Es ist fast schon merkwürdig anmutend, dass es solange dauerte, bis ich das erste mal über Starbucks schreibe. Eigentlich habe ich nur erfahren, via Slashfood, dass Starbucks nun fettarme Milch standardmäßig benutzen möchte. Man muss nun also Vollmilch expliziert ordern - so zumindest in den paar Testfilialen in Nordamerika. Okay, Story abgehakt, denn bei mir fällt das unter "mir doch egal", da ich meinen Kaffee nicht "vermilche" (wie es nahezu alle Singapurer machen, die ihren Kaffee auch gerne in Infusionsbeuteln rumtragen und trinken) und da meine Latte Macchiato lieber mit Sojamilch getrunken wird. Und falls ich vergessen sollte, extra Sojamilch zu erwähnen, so sind mir die paar Prozentpunkte Fett auch egal.
Speaking of Starbucks. Zwei Observationen, eine aus München und Deutschland, eine aus Singapur zu den Seattler Coffeeshops. In Deutschland kostet das Substituieren von Sojamilch nichts (in den USA schon), während der Extra-Shot Espresso in den USA billiger ist. In Singapur haben die einzelnen Starbucks-Filialen Riesenmaße; da passen locker zwei- bis dreimal so viele Leute hin wie in der gewöhnlichen deutschen oder amerikanischen Filiale.
